How do I help?

“Do not worry about how you are to speak or what you are to say.  You will be given at that moment what you are to say.  For it will not be you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.”  Matthew 10:19-20  If you are trying to help someone in any way – emotionally, spiritually, academically – and you are unsure how to be effective, the best thing you can do is to pray for them.  I can’t tell you how, but I can tell you that you will be given the insight and the words that will make a difference.  It may not be right away, it may be a long process, but you will give them something to hold onto every time, and it will help them take those baby steps towards success.  Trust me, it works in ways you can’t even begin to imagine.

“It is by the His power, and not by the wisdom of men that the world is converted and to prove this He has chosen unlearned men to be His preachers and has sent them into the world.”  Pope St. Gregory the Great.
