Passover

We will be walking through the Triduum (Thursday through Sunday) this week.  It’s my favorite time of year in the church, because there is so much packed into each day.  We started with Palm Sunday, and now we go into Passover.  Jesus was entering Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover – the remembrance of God’s delivering the Israelites from Egypt.  9 plagues, no result.  10th plague God said to get ready.  Take an unblemished lamb, inspect it for four days, then kill and eat it, taking the blood and wiping it on the doorposts.  Eat ready to run.  It wasn’t enough just to sacrifice the lamb, they had to be full participants.  They had to consume the entire thing.  It’s called a sacrifice of communion.  Remember this for later.
