One thing in life is sure – things will change.  People come and go in our lives, and our situations change continuously.  It’s hard when someone who is a good influence and a positive force in our lives leaves.  Our associate pastor just moved to a different church, and I will really miss his perspective on life.  He comes from a totally different background – grew up in a tribe in Zambia, dowries for daughters set in cows and chickens, no shoes until 12 years old – but he was able to help our community cut through all the unnecessary stuff to see what was important.  Sometimes to our chagrin.  What a gift to be able to do that.  He leaves an opening in our lives, and I’m not sure how it will be filled, but I’m sure that it will be filled with the next thing God has planned for us.  I hope that we can look forward and find it, rather than looking back at what is gone.
