Baby Bird

I saw a baby bird yesterday who was just learning to fly.  He was just sitting in the grass by my car, hoping we wouldn’t notice him.  No sign of Mom anywhere as we talked to the little guy and watched him take short flights.  I’m sure she was nearby, hidden in a tree, watching to see if we got too close, and we would have been dive-bombed if we did.  However, she gave him plenty of space and motivation to work on his flying skills.  Don’t you feel like God does that sometimes?  Nowhere to be seen, and I’m dealing with these giants looking at me, making crazy faces and noises.  Oh, He’s watching, and with every flight away from the giants, my wings get stronger, and I get wiser.  Don’t you think?

I love this analogy. I think He does indeed stand to the side and watch as we try to fly, rooting for us all the while. 💜💜

And I loved watching this bird. He was so tough, trying to scare us away with his big open mouth and “scary” noises. We were cheering for him, too. 🙂
