Don’t Give Up

So, we’re about a week in. How are you doing on your Lenten commitments? Have you even decided on them yet? I will say that I’m about 75% so far, maybe 80% if I’m generous. But, rather than be defeated, I am challenged. I can do better this week. This is not a time to be overcome, but to be challenged. Not to be discouraged, but to be encouraged and pulled through the hard parts looking towards the end. Lent is always seen as so dark and heavy and sad, but it is really a time of wonderful anticipation. This is where we wait for the biggest triumph of them all. It gets pretty dark before we get there, but the light at the end is incredibly bright. Don’t give up yet.
