Passion

The traditional practices of Lent – prayer, fasting, and almsgiving – all help us to grow in the very things that are lived out in the Passion. We have grown closer to God in prayer, grown in strength of will through the sacrifices and fasting we have done, and have grown in love for others in our giving of our time or our money. All of these prepare us for the Passion this week. Jesus is so close to God, that He knows what He has to do, He has the immense will needed to continue towards crucifixion, and the complete and total love for His Father and for us that gives Him the courage and desire to continue to the end. We will all have our times of crisis and passion, and I have come to this place many times when I have had difficult paths to walk. Every year, I come to walk it with Him, remembering how He has walked with me over and over again.
