May is so crazy, especially with school aged kids. Finals, performances, tryouts, summer plans – everything converges and makes the last month of school absolute chaos. It’s easy to get overwhelmed and overdone. It’s easy to just focus on yourself and what you need done. But today, I got a gentle reminder of where my focus needs to be. “We urge you, brothers, admonish the idle, cheer the fainthearted, support the weak, be patient with all. See that no one returns evil for evil; rather, always seek what is good [both] for each other and for all.” (1Thes 5:14-15 NAB) In other words, “What needs done will get done. Don’t forget the people around you, and don’t be someone who adds to the chaos. Bring peace – My peace – and all will be well.” I hope you needed to hear that, too.
