No Miracle?

There are miracles being asked for in the lives of several people around me right now. Most have not or will not be granted, and another may yet. As I was praying this morning, it came to me that even though the miracles we ask for are not granted, we cannot focus so much on our specific request that we miss the many miracles that we are given in the process. May we be given the grace to see the moments that we have had with our loved ones, the love and generosity of strangers who give what we didn’t even know to ask for, the strength that we didn’t think we had, the people who are there to catch us as we start to falter. “I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. In a little while the world will no longer see me, but you will see me, because I live and you will live. On that day you will realize that I am in my Father and you are in me and I in you.” (John 14:18-20)
