Follow Me 4

We’re almost to chapter 5 and Jesus finally starts in earnest. He stays in this small backwoods town, goes to the synagogues, and teaches, preaches, and heals. It’s a small section, but it leads up to the Sermon on the Mount. For three years, He will continue to do this. We know what the final scene is, but He spends much time preparing for it. Do we? Or do we skip to the end? To follow here, we need to listen and learn. There is no way that we can appreciate what has been done for us if we don’t know why it has been done. We even need to teach and preach, because in teaching, we learn even more. We need to be people who bring healing to others. In this way, crowds gather and come hungry for more. (Matthew 4:23-25)
