As I was running the other morning, I saw such a beautiful sunrise. The clouds started with just tips of pink, then added orange, blues, purples, gold, and white, and at the end, there were rays of sun bursting through as the day began. It was an incredible way to start the day. I’m sure that there are many research papers explaining the diffraction of the light and the molecules in the air and clouds that make that happen, but that really wouldn’t add to my experience of the beauty of the moment. It was enough to admire it and soak it in. In my faith, it is the same. There are places for the research that explains why we believe and what we believe, and that understanding can deepen our experience of God. But sometimes it is enough to sit and watch the light change, and watch as it bursts through announcing a brand new day.
