The Christmas season is such a time of contrasts. It’s a time of giving, sharing, beautiful decorations, hot chocolate, and snow (all of it fake here). At the same time, it’s a time of stress, too many performances/tests/parties, shopping, lines, packed parking lots, and traffic, traffic, traffic. The biggest contrast is that all of this is about a simple, tiny gift that was given to us in a most undignified way. No lines, no lattes, no room. This is what we are waiting for. This is what we are hoping for, isn’t it? He’s coming, and He will be a way for us to actually physically touch our God. He will open the doors to heaven. So, as we sit in this beauty, struggle through parking lots, and work through our lists, let us remember that the true gift is one that we can bring to all of those places. We can bring a Savior, ready to be born.
