I know people who are literally changing the way that you help the homeless and orphans. Both of them have a different way of seeing what the problem really is. The key to unlocking these doors has been an understanding of family. For the homeless, it is that the family has catistrophically failed for some reason. For the orphans, it’s that they need a family, even if the only place they can get it is in an orphanage. If you have a family structure, you have someone looking out for your well being. You have someone to help you when you lose your job and have no backup resources. You have someone who helps you learn life skills you were never taught. Shelter the Homeless is a tough act of Mercy for us to do on our own, although I know people who have. Fortunately, we have organizations that are making a difference in the world that we can support. These two are my favorites.
