Simplicity

I read a wonderful quote about faith in a study that I am doing. “Faith is acting like it is so, even when it is not so, so that it might be so, simply because God said so.” (Dr. Tony Evans) As we went through each statement and looked at situations where we had lived this, I realized that it is a bit circular, and starts where it ends. It always starts with “Simply because God said so.” And, isn’t that just the way to put it? We can fight it, and we can struggle with it, and we can doubt it, but in the end, if we just listen and follow, it is “simply because God said so,” and no more. Any obstacles or roadblocks are part of the plan. We can walk through an open door without fear because it is part of the plan. We can trust that it is right, because God is the one who directed it in the first place. “Simply because God said so,” it is worth doing. It is then that we can act like it is so, even when it is not so, so that it might be so. It’s just that simple.
