Spring Rains

I love the day after a spring rain. At least, I love those rains that take all the humidity and yuck that have been hanging in the air, bring it to the ground, and leave you with a sunny, dry, cool morning. The colors are vibrant, green, and lush, and the trees are full and heavy with their new leaves. All is fresh and rid of the heaviness that you didn’t realize was there. I think God does this with us sometimes. He’ll take us through a storm, or maybe just a bit of a downpour, and if we push through it, we see the air is clear, and the things that have weighed us down have been taken away. These mornings are my favorite. Those moments are also my favorites. The storm, not so much. But, it gives me strength to know that there is work being done. “Behold, I make all things new.” (Revelations 21:5) And it is glorious.
