Fine China

How many of us grew up with or have a set of china in the cabinet? It is given as a wedding gift, handed down from parents or grandparents, and is generally saved for a special occasion. Now, how many times have you eaten on your china? I would venture to say it is a very rare occasion. I realized a while ago, that we are not the kind of people who have “china” level occasions, and that if I saved it for only those times, I would never use it at all. Instead, I bring it out for dinners with friends, and it makes those times feel a bit more special. In some ways, we try to make the “God thing” something so valuable that we treat it like the fine china in everyone’s cabinets. It’s something you only take out on Sundays or times of great joy or sorrow. Actually, it’s not.  It’s something that we should take out all the time. Our faith, prayer, Bible stories, God moments, and witnesses are all something for the every day, and even for the every moment. How special would it make our daily lives?
