“Who do you say that I am?” (Jesus to the disciples in Luke 9:20) What a question. You may have a script of who Jesus is. You may have a script of who God is, but when you look at your life, sometimes it is a different answer. Is He a savior? Friend? Magician? Healer? Consoler? Enemy? King? The thing is, the answer will change from season to season. It behooves us to take a moment and think about what our answer really is, and see if that is the answer we want to be living. It is also amazing to look and see how that answer has changed and grown over the years. I know that for me, every time my image of God or understanding of Jesus has been challenged, by others or by life circumstances, it has grown to a fuller and more beautiful understanding of who He is. It’s holding onto that in daily life that can be a challenge sometimes. “Who do you say I am?” Think about it.
