Let me Love you

Let me love you, Amayzing Graces, Karen May

It’s funny how such a small change can make such a big difference. Move a plant over three feet, from the shade to the sun, and it can make a difference whether it lives or dies, especially here in Texas. On a cold, blustery, day you only need to open a window a couple inches for the temperature in the room to drop substantially.

A little while ago, I heard a small change in a prayer that transforms it, and if answered can transform us, too. It’s just a couple words, but oh, the difference is astounding.

So often we pray, “Lord, help me love you more.” It’s a beautiful prayer that we should all pray. If answered, our lives will reflect beauty, light, and grace in ways we never expect.

But, what if we prayed, “Lord, help me let you love me more?” How would that change us? If we let Jesus love us, and allowed that love to overwhelm and consume us, what light would shine then? What grace would flow? It would come from our abundance, and there would be no way that we would want anyone else to miss out on it. It would become our prayer for the world. Really, it would. Because it’s just too wonderful to miss.
