I was on a plane yesterday, and as I usually do, I asked God to use me if He needed me. First leg – got some reading done. Second leg, sat next to a man, and in talking about our destinations, I said I was going for training to be a spiritual director. Conversation killer, right? No, but we started talking about everything else. I heard about his wife, kids, Navy career; we talked about the World Cup, everything. After 45 minutes, he says that after his 4th deployment, he feels like he’s lost his faith. I hadn’t even asked him to share with me. He talked to me about his faith when he knew that I was interested in and appreciated who he was. I think that goes for everyone.
