Last week, I talked about standing still, and for some reason it has really stuck with me. Moses told the Israelites not to panic as Pharaoh’s troops approached, but to stand still, and I’ve realized that there is a lot in that statement. Not only were they to stand still and let God do the work that He promised, but in the standing, they are proclaiming their trust. They must also watch to see God fulfill His promise. It is not enough to stand and wait, but we watch. And sometimes, we think we’re watching, but we’re looking the wrong way. Just the other day, I was asked to write down where I am in my life, and realized that God had answered a prayer that I forgot that I prayed. Oops. And the last part is to be able to look back and remember that God is faithful. The Israelites did not have it easy after the Red Sea, and it was hard to remember. But time and again, God came through. So, yes, we stand still sometimes, but even then there is much to do.
