I read this friend’s story today, and just had to share it. This definitely did not go the direction I thought it would. Love it!
Waiting on N. to finish piano lessons and discussing O.’s upcoming 1st Communion, the 3 of us get into a discussion of Mortal vs Venial sins. As I am giving examples to illustrate the difference, A. looks up and says, “I think I would like to go to confession soon.”
Me: OK, sure. Do you remember your Act of Contrition?
He recites it nearly perfectly.
Me: what is the first thing you say when you sit down in front of the priest?
Him: Hey Father, How YOU doin?
Me: I have completely failed you, haven’t I?
